Everdon won the toss and put Napton into bat.
Given the green and soft track this appeared to be a good decision; and so it turned out to be.
Everdon's mixture of experienced and teenage bowlers finished Napton off in the 32nd over for just 92 runs.
The only positive thing to be said about the innings was the performance of 'new boy' Bruce Cook in his first game for eight years.
Unfortunately Stuart had to 'retire hurt' in the 17th over and only returned in the 28th with a 'runner'.

As with Napton, Everdon always puts a high degree of importance on producing a traditional cricket tea; and they did not disappoint at this match. A fine selection of filled rolls, delicious cakes and other 'goodies', accompanied by copious amounts of hot tea.
Defending just 92 runs was not a likely prospect and the challenge was to make Everdon work hard and long for the target.
Strike bowler Stuart was hobbling from his batting injury and bowled off a much reduced run-up. Fellow fast bowler Mike was suffering from a pulled muscle in his side; so Napton's attack was under-par.
However, Chris and Jimmy produced some really tight and accurate bowling. Out of 5 maidens Chris had 2 wicket-maidens. Jimmy also bowled 5 maidens out of his allocated 8 overs, one of them a double-wicket maiden.
Some acrobatic fielding and a catch from George kept the scoring ticking along slowly.
The home team reached the target in the 30th over for the loss of 5 wickets.
