This is one of the re-formed Napton Cricket Club's original and most regular fixtures.
Last season this double fixture resulted in one game each.
Napton arrived at the ground being one game up this year having won at home in May.
Captain Sam won the toss and fancied batting.
The visitors lost an opener in the 5th over leaving Napton on a Baker's-Dozen for one.
This called for the re-emerging talent of the remaining opener Tim to take a grip and steady the ship. He didn't disappoint.
Sam, batting up the order at number three, was straight into the big shots whilst Tim was content to nurdle singles all around the ground with the occasional boundary.
This pair added 61 runs when Sam departed in the 23rd over on a well deserved 41.
Joe joined Tim in the centre. There was the usual air of expectation from Napton when Joe is facing.
The power and distance of some of his shots are electrifying. In one over he hit a two, a four and two sixes.
Tim had taken on a supporting role and was a couple away from his half-century. Unfortunately he was half a yard too slow in reaching his ground following a speculative attempt at doubling a single. Even with a diving attempt, he received the finger.
This was another useful partnership of 54. By the end of that over, the 33rd, Napton were on 129-3.
James joined Joe and held up his end allowing Joe to build on his score and reach a half-century.
Napton completed their allocated 40 overs on 167-6
Joe Alsop 51 Not Out 6 boundaries inc. 3 sixes
Tim Perkin 48 runs 5 boundaries
Sam Sensecall 41 runs 7 boundaries inc. 1 six.
The visitors mused over this score during tea. Was it sufficient enough to defend?
Napton started well. In the 3rd over Mike served up a wicket-maiden dismissing batsmen number two. An accurate return from JP finished off the other opener's innings in the 12th over.
After this, none of the home team batters really managed to 'get in'.
The near-perfect line and length of Jimmy's bowling provided evidence that his shoulder injury is on the mend.
Two fine catches by Callum and Jimmy with a stumping by Tim helped in bringing the game to an end in the 32nd over with Bourton and Frankton on 99 all out.
Rob Pelter 5 overs 2-17
Jimmy Morton 8 overs 1 maiden 2-25
Mike Eadon 4 overs 1 maiden 1-7
Gary Speller 2.1 overs 1-7
John P Eadon 4 overs 1-13
