King Sledger defends his non appearance in the 2010 tour Evesham batting line up and boasts of previous centuries.

Spring,

One more bloody email from you and I will confine you to my spam folder! I think I have made a rod for my own back in some ways, I have not exactly been prolific on my tours to South Africa have I?!! That said in my defence, I go for the holiday not the cricket (it gets in the way) and I don't think I have been sober for a game (you see it's that bad I can't even remember) That said for the standard of cricket, Belville aside, who hospitality apart I actually enjoyed because it was only challenging fixture ability wise, by the way didn't we put a few on together at Belville in 2003?

Sadly our website does not go back far enough to list performance's from the Wilis Caroon/Debenham Cheshire Tewson league day's, here you would see 4 of my 6 first team hundred's all against quality opposition, I'm sure that you remember that league well as I think we discussed it when together the other week. It is only now that I regret not playing for 7 years, Bob Gittins said I would regret it and he was right, still I do have time to hopefully get past 10 hundreds, I should have got at least one already this season, 81 at Brockhampton. Yes, you should have carried on, although the damage that Simon Price did to Evesham is an excuse for you throwing in the empty bottle.

Don't worry, when I retire I won't forget to mention you in my book called 'Batting with Bacardi'.

CAD.

Remember that I’m in Norfolk now, so apart from two headed inbreds, sweetcorn, carrots and fields of barley, there’s no-one else to talk to - so put up with the emails for my sanity.

Yes, I remember an Over 50 Touring side customary collapse against Bellville in SA, with the Cape Doctor blowing right across the wicket. If you remember, (I can, because I was sober) we put on about 50, of which you actually contributed at least twenty runs. What is truly memorable is meeting with you in the middle of the wicket at the end of an over and me telling you “Stay with me, we can do these bloody Nazis” First ball next over, the spiced rum kicks in, and head up, you spoon a simple catch to mid wicket. You troop off back to the bar, and I have to bat with Mudders. Good night Vienna.

As regards the 2010 tour game, it was only when you reminded me of your ultimate sledge “Anyone can get lucky” when I cover drove one of your young twats through the covers, and I thought “xxxx me, did I do that?” I thought your comment was totally uncalled for at the time, but very funny now.

Likewise Iggy putting his finger up later on saying he wanted to put me out of my misery. Sick then, hilarious now. And by the way, I reckon I got in by at least an inch, I want a referral.
