HDFC took on an established Milton United side on Tuesday evening.

With the coaching staff looking to rotate players, it was more a run out to blow off the cobwebs with no preseason under the belts.
Milton put HDFC under pressure from the off and were 1-0 to the good after 8 minutes. A good diagonal ball found Scott Bew who held a ball up for a nod in at the back post.
Milton had the better of the play for the first half hour while HDFC got into their stride. HDFC thought they had equalised after an intelligent ball from James Sheldon saw Danny Bentley finish superbly, only to be ruled offside.
1-0 to Milton at the break but HDFC weren't out of the game. With several changes in place, Milton were 2-0 when Adam Threadgold wrecklessly brought down Bew, allowed Shenton to convert the penalty.
This seemed to spark HDFC to life and good work from Bentley saw his cross deflected into the net for an own goal. 2-1. Great work from HDFC's front 4 saw a dangerous ball slammed home by debutant Connor Bithell. 2-2. With 5 left to play, Hayden Wright worked his magic to release Johan Kok, who slammed a drive into the corner of the net. 3-2!!

Head Coach Martyn Irvine:
Tonight wasn't so much about the result, it was more the case of getting the lads a run out before the hard work kicked in. To come from 2-0 down against a side who are established in the league above, shows the quality we have in the group.
Credit to the new lads who looked like they've always been with the group.
Great character from all involved and a great boost before pre season truly kicks in.
