Nelson have signed former Wigan Athletic defender/midfielder Ian Kilford. The experienced former Latic also had spells at Scunthorpe, Nottingham Forest, Barrow and Kendal, he made over 250 football league appearances. Most recently he held a player/assistant manager position at Northwich Victoria.

Ian is expected to go into the squad for Saturday's game at home to Formby.
