The Admirals are delighted to announce that they have secured the services of Max Cane who joins Nelson on a dual registration from Clitheroe.
Max previously played for Nelson in the youth team where he was prolific in front of goal, and made the step up into the first team at the age of 17.
Here's what Nelson's first team manager had to say: "I’ve been trying to secure Max for a number of years now, but his job has always come first and he’s not been able to commit.
"I’m delighted now he’s been able to commit and I’m really looking forward to seeing him in Nelson blue again.
"He’s already made a really positive impact and has slotted into the dressing room nicely, which for us is key.
"He’s been playing with the 23s at Clitheroe where he’s been on fire and deservedly was rewarded with an opportunity with the first team this pre-season.
"It’s important he gets regular football at a good level given his young age and with his potential, so hopefully we can get him to a level of match fitness and performance that pushes him forward in the first team.
"Obviously I want to keep him as long as possible but I’m not one to stand in a young lads way when they’re given the opportunity to progress and better themselves."
Positive news is just what the Blues needed with the week ahead in mind.
