We hosted Leven Valley on Saturday and, although they turned up with a depleted team, they had enough experienced players to be competitive.
Leven took first knock, with Harry Smith and Oscar Coxon sharing the new ball. Harry struck immediately, having the opening bat brilliantly caught by Oscar at point.
Their no.3 biffed a few boundaries before being trapped LB by Craig Dixon, who also had the no.4 caught behind by Vaughan Samson first ball.
There were good bowling spells from Vaughan and Lewis Airey, but it was Callum Morgan, who wrapped up the innings, dismissing the no.2, who had batted throughout for 47, and the last batsman, to close the Leven innings on 92. Callum finished with 3 for 11.
In reply, Mick and Harry shared an opening partnership of 42, which put us in the driving seat. Vaughan then played a steady knock, and when he was joined by Craig, this pair secured the 15 points. Craig hit 28no as we moved to 97 for 3.
