3 points dropped to Barkingside

Newbury fell to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Barkingside on Monday evening. Newburys superb unbeaten start the season came to end last night on a cold rainy evening at the Oakside.

Side broke the deadlock on the 26th min after a hand ball in the Newbury area awarded them penalty.

Newbury looked for a quick response and should of been awarded 2 penalties themselves much to dismay of everyone at the ground including the Barkingside players the Ref decided not to award them.

Missed chances and poor decisions would be the fall of Newbury.

Newbury struggled to get going second half with Side coming fast out of the trap and netting twice within 10 minutes. Newbury did net, however this would only turn out to be a conciliation as side then restored their 3 goal lead minutes after.

A frustrating night for Newbury who must now look to bounce back against Halstead this Saturday.
