Newbury started shakily and within the 1st minute ACD were put through on goal however Ollie Bessex pulled off a great 1v1 stop to keep the game at 0-0.

Newbury struggled to get into the game to begin with giving up possession far to easy and not holding onto the ball for long periods.

As the game settled down the breakthrough for ACD came following a corner, a front post flick and some poor marking saw the ACD striker head past Ollie Bessex to make it 1-0.

Shortly after that ACD made it 2-0 following some sloppy possession, a ball was flicked round the corner and the ACD striker was clean through on goal. Bessex made 2 fantastic saves however lack of tracking back allowed the midfielder to tap in to an empty net.

Newbury Forest now started to edge into the game and created a great opportunity from a through ball from Alex Foster to Darnyl Stanley who spurned the chance and put wide after the keeper had rushed to the edge of the box.

Following this Newbury found a way back into the game from the penalty spot. After good work from the midfield, the ball was played into Sam Davie who was thrown to the ground and the ref pointed to the spot. Alex Foster stepped up to take the spot kick and tucked away the penalty for his first goal for Newbury with the keeper getting a hand to it to make it 2-1.

Newbury then came under pressure from a few waves of attack and great deliveries from the ACD left back from which they hit the crossbar and also fired wide.
