Our first match of the calendar year saw us take a firm grip of the game right from the start. Caleb was looking quick and sharp up front and after 8 minutes Jake sent a ball to the left which Caleb got to. He dribbled into the area from the left and then sent a great right foot bullet shot into the far top corner of the net. Great goal! 2 minutes later and Caleb put a lovely pass through to the left for Jake to run on to and like Caleb he dribbled it past players and into the area where he got the ball on his left foot and sent a the ball into the same part of the Bealonian's net that Caleb just had. Another great goal! After 15 minutes we won a corner and Caleb took it and swung the ball in under the bar. The keeper was unlucky and in his attempt to try and catch it deflected it into the net. 3-0.

Bealonians were not short of quick and skillful players up front and our midfield and defence had to be alert and strong to keep them at bay. We held our concentration for the rest of the first half and crucially did not concede a goal, as we sometimes do, as this would have given Beals a lift.

In the second half it was our turn to play into a brisk wind on a heavy pitch and again we had to be strong. As the half went on Beals were really pushing forward in numbers. If Beals had scored at any stage in the second half it could have been a game changer but Arun was dominant as usual at centre back, Saad and Pavan gave 100% and were certainly tired by the end from their efforts. Majus had come on just before half time and when needed he won vital tackles and forced Bealonians attackers back. In goal Max was immaculate in everything he was called on to do. His distribution was on the money. He made a couple of very good saves from difficult shots bouncing in front of him on the bumpy muddy pitch. He never spilled a single ball! Also his decision making was perfect. Jake was good bringing the ball forward and put in some lovely passes. In the second half along with his creativity he battled well to win the ball. He had a top game today. Casian nearly scored near the end when he forced his way through in on goal from the right and shot. But the keeper blocked it. Cameron showed some good skills especially combining with other players down the right with some good passing moves. In the second half Ismael was involved in more of our attacking moves. Leo had played well in the middle in the first half. He was always looking to keep moves flowing with his passing. Stan captained the side well. He too was involved in some good passing moves coming forward and got in a couple of good shots on goal. In the second half he got into some great positions. Lukas was powerful down the right and supplied some good crosses. He also helped relieve the pressure Bealonain's were building by running the ball away from our goal and then being involved with a number of our own attacks. My player of the match though was Abdullah. I asked him to play an anchoring role in central mid field which involves being disciplined and he did just that. We know how good Abs is attacking and we saw that in the second half. He contributed massively to today's result and should be proud of himself. He won many crucial tackles stopping at least 2 goals especially when Beals had broken through and were in on our goal only to feel Abs get crucial tackles in. In the second half he worked the ball so well. On 56 minutes he helped bring the ball out of defence and then slipped a perfectly timed pass into Caleb who ran in on goal and scored.

So a good performance and our first clean sheet of the season.

Well done the whole team.

So well done lads.
