The thirds entertained Congleton at their stunning Valley arena. Your scribe found that following his stunning try last week, he was dropped and made to be referee. This was not an issue because it was noted that the great debater with referees was missing aka Toppo. But at Newcastle there is always someone to step upto the mark ... step forward Leighton. The opposition who on seeing Chewy in Newcastle colours claimed we were fielding "ringers" but it was not him they needed to worry about but the speed of the backs, who were fielding some new faces. Mike Huss making his debut scored more than one try and maybe three (jug?). Rich Morgan who was devastated to miss out on the posts painting club last week (Judda and Toppo) and decided to join this exclusive club after he amazingly lost his temper. I know what you thinking..Rich..temper..never. Judda found himself under the posts (again) and realised he wasn't there because he was in the sin-bin so put the ball down and scored a try. Congleton tried to keep it in their forwards and were rewarded with two tries. But the speed of the backs and some devastating tackling especially by Dan Brown kept Newcastle well ahead with a final score of 67-10.Well done lads.
Next week ..Leek at home
