Derby Win against Stoke away

Tremendous effort by all on Saturday.

Due to World Cup and players being away we just got there with enough players the field a team of 14.

Big thank you to Stoke who were patient as we had to get a few lads from work and out of bed.

Lovely afternoon for a game of rugby and a non existent warm up Stoke had us pinned back for the first ten minutes. Castle held strong and with some great line outs steals we managed to clear our lines and get into Stoke half in which we started to dominate the breakdown and get quick ball out to our exciting new young backs line well apart from the scrum half and right wing.

It was great to see these young lads working as hard in attack as well as defence in which our defence held firm and with a great turn over and some quick ball we had scored, this set the tone and once we had seen weaknesses in Stokes back line we started attacking the very heart of it, a second try was scored with some great team passing.

Credit to our forwards in sorting out the scrum which put a lot of pressure on Stokes bigger pack with a great nudge on there five against the head the ball had come out and stokes scrum half was asleep quick ball from 9 to 10 another score.

One of the tries of the game straight of the kick off some great offloading from our second row shipped out across the backs and Ryan Spooner put on the gas a beat 6 players to score under the posts from inside our own half.

Momentum on our side Stoke had no answer until they finally hit us with a strong smart try coming straight through the middle of our defence which had been the main building block.

This kicked us back into gear as we realised we had switched off. It did not take long and we scored again.

Unfortunately I had to go back to work and Move G into scrum half were he has never played before, what to I do,, follow the forwards, give decent ball to you ten get around the park, make your tackles and go when it's on I said. G REPLY what do you do then. Haha

Second half performance Stoke scored one more try and Castle ran in a few more to win a very good match as we had scrambled a team together. half time, we dragged Huw on from the sideline who came to watch so he had run out and then Fiji Q turned up I gave him my boots as I was back of to work, my little cameo run out in my lunch hour is getting a reputation,

But with all things that had gone on a massive thank you to everyone who played Saturday U R MY CASTLE.

Plus my apologises with my big gob thought I had it under control
