Milton Win Thrilling Top Of The League Match

Milton played host to Bognor who hold second place in the league 3 points behind Milton, this game, as it turned out, was a win or lose match for Bognor, top league position was all they wanted.
Milton had lost to them in their home match but were hoping to get over their two recent losses and get back to winning ways. Bognor quickly took the lead but Milton kept in touch and their defence of their try line in the second half was outstanding, being secure and penalty free, so much so they were able to outscore Bognor by 3 tries to 2

Bognor were quickly in the Milton 22, a penalty award to Bognor created pressure on the line and grounding attempt was ruled held up, following the drop out they quickly resumed that pressure going over for a try.

Milton responded creating pressure in the Bognor 22 and near the try line, but a penalty award to Bognor relieved that pressure and from a following scrum on half way Bognor made a good attack on the Milton try line finally touching down for a converted try.

After a 10 minute injury break, Milton kicked off and from a scrum inside the Bognor half they made a good attack moving the ball well out of each tackle quickly progressing towards the Bognor try line finally passing through the hands to Jude Payne who broke through touching down in the corner

Milton were quickly into action, following a line out on half way they were awarded a penalty which when kicked did not make touch but the Bognor return kick was caught and passed by the Milton backs and out to Charlie Jewiss who from the Bognor 22 used his pace to evade tackle attempts and touch down for a try.

The game progressed with scrums and line outs where the Bognor forwards showed their power and and skill but Milton were able to prevent them taking full advantage of that superiority.

Milton were working hard and making some good attacks and from a scrum on the Bognor 10 mtr line the ball was passed out to the backs Alex Everett-Jackson made a delicate kick ahead for Chris Conacher to run ahead and collect the ball to touch down for try.

The rest of the game,just on 12 minutes, took place in the Milton 22 and close to the try line with Bognor working hard to score a try and Milton working even harder to prevent them scoring. Bognor were awarded a penalty but they declined a conversion kick which would have meant a draw, they took it short and pushed on for the line but the Milton team just kept on working to stop them scoring, until finally the referee raised his arm, Bognor supporters went wild but then realised it was a penalty award to Milton, and cheers roared out from the Milton supporters.
