Millbrook 21 New Milton 39

Milton travelled to play Millbrook where they have recent history of not playing at their best, but this time Milton continued to maintain their current good form outscoring Millbrook by 7 tries to 3

The first 15 minutes of play took place in the centre of the pitch with scrums and lines outs, Milton having a slight edge in the scrums but also having to contend with playing into a steady wind.
From a Millbrook scrum on half way Milton gained possession and took play into the Millbrook 22 where a tackle released the ball which was picked by Chris Conacher who continued the attack and passed to Dalton Thomas for the touch down.

Millbrook responded decisively from the kick off gaining possession of a loose ball and moving it through their backs for a converted try.

Play calmed down a bit for period, but following a Millbrook scrum on half way Dan Mallard gained possession from a tackle and passed the ball to Chris Conacher who made the break through passing to Charlie Jewiss to complete the score.

This was quickly followed by Milton gaining possession on half way passing the ball to Charlie Jewiss who simply ran through the defence using his pace to evade tackles to touch down converted by Connor Hammerstone.

Millbrook gained a line out on the Milton 22 but Jude Payne gained possession and ran through the defence tackles passing to Dan Mallard to continue the break to make the touch down.

Half Time 7 – 22

From the Milton kick off Millbrook gained a line out on their 22 but penalty award to Milton was quickly taken by Callum Wood who passed to Dan Mallard to score his brace, Hammerstone added the extras.

Another Milton attack quickly followed Connor Hammerstone running from half way to be tackled just on the Millbrook line, the ball was recycled and passed through the team right across the pitch to Charlie Jewiss who ran in to score his hattrick try.

Millbrook then gained possession in the Milton 22 and created pressure on the Milton line and penalties against Milton extended the period of defence which was secure, finally from a ruck on the Milton 22 Adam Lavis gained possession and kicked ahead the bounce of the ball was neatly collected by Connor Hammerstone who ran away from the defence and this time get the touch down.

The last quarter of the game was taken up with penalty awards to both sides, from a Milton scrum on half way Millbrook gained possession their backs running in to touch down, this was quickly followed Millbook gaining possession from a Milton attack and running the ball over the line for another touch down both tries being converted.

Milton's Man of the Match was Alfie Wignall for his action all over the pitch from the Front Row to where ever the ball was travelling.
