Farnborough 16 New Milton 24

Milton travelled to play Farnborough, a team holding up the league, hoping to build upon the previous week's win. Milton quickly realised that they had a tough game on their hands when the hosts took an early lead, but they worked hard as a team and gradually got the score board moving in their favour finally outscoring Farnborough by 4 tries to 1.

Farnborough were quickly into the Milton 22, and gained a penalty award which they converted, Milton responded creating pressure on the host's line but unable to break through the ball being cleared, they quickly tried again but again no score.

Penalty awards gave the hosts possession in the Milton 22 and another penalty award to Farnborough was converted, this was quickly followed up by the hosts gaining a turnover and one of their centres ghosting past Milton's defence to score a converted try.

Jack Corbett's under the post's team talk did the trick,Milton were quickly into the host's 22 and from a scrum John O'Regan made a break and passed to Brendan Treacey to break through to touch down.

Milton's pack were again dominating the set pieces with Andy George getting the throws to Ben Steers and Treacey in the line outs just right, the pack was “on fire” creating problems with the host's put in and gaining penalty awards.

Milton were back in Farnborough's 22 and from a scrum another John O'Regan break passing to Sam Bew who was just able to get the ball to Matt Cutler to run though and touch down.

Half Time 13 – 10

Milton continued the pressure they had established and from a line out win on half way the pack pushed on to the Farnborough 22, a penalty award was taken quickly Mario Santa-Maria breaking through to touch down, well converted by Connor Coombs.

The host's were far from down, their backs always looked dangerous when gifted possession from high clearance kicks and they gained a penalty award which was converted.

With final result in the balance during the last 15 minutes Milton sealed it in the final moments, a Farnborough clearance was “gathered” by Tom Gould who ran the ball back, from the resulting tackle and ruck Sam Bew gained possession, and in his new boots ( purchased from Sports Direct – Farnborough) ran for the line brushing off tackles to touch down for a league bonus point try, another excellent conversion by Connor Coombs sealed the win.

Final Score 16 – 24
