Northleach Junior Football Club - Training Advice
Clothing ...
It is very important that chidren are dressed appropriately for training sessions. We recommend that a minimum of three layers of clothing, such as a tee-shirt, sweatshirt, and light waterproof jacket, are worn so that they can be taken off and put back on to suit our ever changing weather condtions. Hooded tops are not recommended.
Footwear ...
Ideally all children should wear well fitting football boots with either studs or blades during training sessions. For the first few sessions it may be beneficial to also bring along a pair of training shoes for your children as these may be better suited to the harder ground conditions during early September.
Shin Guards ...
To reduce the risk of injury, it will be mandatory for all children to wear well fitting shin guards for both training sessions and matches. Please remember this every week as unfortunately, we will operate the strict rule of 'no shin guards, no training'.
Refreshments ...
To ensure that your child remains hydrated, all coaches will offer the children regular opportunities to take a drink during the course of training. As such, we recommend that your child brings a sports bottle filled with either water or fruit squash to each session. Please note that fizzy drinks or energy drinks such as Coke or Lucozade are not recomended.
Medication ...
If you have informed us via your child's registration that he/she is subject to a particular medical condition, please ensure that any medication that may need to be administered before, during or after training sessions is with the child at all times and he or she is able to self administer this medication confidently. Where it is not possible for the child to self administer medication we request that the parent(s) remain present for the duration of the training session to administer their child's medication personally.
