Our History

Nomads FC was formed in 1961 and was the brainchild of Mr A G “Harry” Harris. The club was formed to provide a social side for families as well as football. The club soon became well known for its busy programme, big annual dinner dance and overseas tours.

In its first season Nomads won division four of the Tonbridge league and continued to flourish. A junior section was formed after some of the players retired and was extremely successful, producing several players having moved on to respectable higher grades of football.

We have been settled at Mowshurst farm for over 28 years and have facilities to be proud of. The club had made big strides in the last 12 months, we are looking to build on this going into the future with more projects on the horizon to progress this fantastic local setup the most possible.

A quick google search of “Nomads FC Edenbridge” shows.....paper trail of history. You can find, dig out and read many match previews/reports, club news and articles published even photos dated back to the 60’s & 70’s in the clubs early existence when the footings where dug and set. The job was done well, seeing into 2020 the club set a 59 year mark on there existence ongoing never folding once since formed in 1961. That is a great achievement, for a club at any level. We are proud to be a sports provider to our great community in the beautiful town of Edenbridge. Year after Year countless Incredible local volunteers and committed hard working players have kept this club alive for a lifetime, proven to show stability and sustainability time and time again always with the main task at heart...to offer the opportunity to play football competitively. This has all been made possible through and from the amazing work, efforts, funding, donations, commitment, passion, drive, blood, sweat & tears continuously, willingly, selflessly put into this great local setup.
