Very wise words from young Norwich JDC member, Rose-Elia Childs!

She also sang 'we still play in the wind and rain' and how right she was there too!

With well over 100 young athletes alone at Norwich JDC, the option to train safely indoors for our restart was not really a viable one. So we've headed outside at Hellesdon High School where we can utilise 4 courts at the same time, across 3 hours so that the athletes can all train every week.

2 sessions into our first block, and numbers are booming! Not only that, but the smiles are too! The weather has been terrible, but after 6 months of lockdown, these girls, their parents and even us coaches, are just loving being together again!

The feedback speaks for itself, and with physical and mental wellbeing the top of our restart agenda, we can give ourselves a very soggy pat on the back! We'll leave you with some quotes and of course, we have some epic pics of our Nowich JDC team too ! Just follow this link!

It's good to be back...!!

Karen Webb
Head coach & Norwich JDC lead.

'I just wanted to say thank you to you for organising this morning, not easy with so many children/groups and in a pandemic and the pouring rain! How much more complicated can it get?'

'Well done and thanks again Karen and you team for all your amazing effort. Anya absolutely loved it.'

'Lucy really enjoyed being back. We were so impressed with all the work you have all put in to make netball a safe place for the girls.'

'I just want to say a huge thank you, Maddy had a great time as always. It was great to see everyone working hard and doing what they love. I also want to say a huge thank you too for me - I took a few hours out of work this morning and for the first time since March I got to catch up with my netball mums too that wasn't over zoom - it was well overdue and a must for my own sanity and wellbeing. I know netball is all about the girls, but as parents we have also formed a fab and supportive bond within the netball family.'

'Thank you, Esmee loved the session today; she was so happy when she got home.'

'Thanks so much for today - you guys are amazing to get this going against the odds - they all loved it!'

'I have never seen so much enthusiasm to play in any weather - lockdown has been good to make them appreciate what they have. Netball really helps their physical and mental health so thanks for all the hard wok getting it back up and running.'

'Francesca & Ellis are so happy to be back training. Thank you for everything you are all doing to make that happen.'

'Well done to you and the rest of the coaching team for all your hard work and dedication.'
