BBOB 7:19 BIGGLESWADE
The game started in dull damp conditions, but with no sign of the mornings snow. Biggy started well and missed an early chance with a penalty. The game was being played at a frantic pace which was going to find BB out later on. Fifteen minutes in and BB put a penalty in the corner and rumbled the lineout over, tighthead Colin Gardner given the score, Olly James converting 7-0. The game was very up and down with BB forwards dominant in the tight, but Biggy looking dangerous in the backs.Half time.
Biggy stared the second half well and were gifted three points when from a kick ahead the kicker was blocked off, 7-3. Then Biggy looked like they had scored, but a fantastic cover tackle from colt Matt Joseph saved the day. BB had no answer to Biggys attacking play and a series of errors from the home side gave them another penalty for hands in 7-6, followed by offside 7-9, and then hanging on 7-12. BB were blowing out of the proverbial and when they did venture upfield they were so slow to the ball it was easily turned over, the exception being once again the excellent Phil Bull. Nearing the end BB missed a penalty shot at goal, when the corner seemed the better option. Biggy sealed victory with a last minute try, kicking the conversion from the touchline 7-19. BB were shattered and you wonder where the next win will come from, hopefully next week at Leighton Buzzard.
