The Mill was sticky after the rain, but the pitch looked well. BB had been warned about penalties as Boro carried in their ranks the deadly accurate boot of Pete Vickers as Scouts and Leighton Buzzard would testify, fresh from his dalliance with the higher leagues. This was soon forgotten as BB transgressed early and Vickers gave Boro the lead 0-3. BB looked good in patches but poor decision making and an alarming problem of not looking after the ball kept them scoreless. From a BB attack Boro turned the ball over and with home sides backline resembling a washing line scored in the corner, Vickers of course kicked the conversion 0-10. The rest of the half became the Vickers show, kicking two penalties 0-16 and driving BB back with some massive line kicks. BB attacked from deep and some good hands gave player/coach Ben Mann a try. converted by Drew Behan 7-16. On the stroke of half time BB missed a pen from in front of the posts 7-16. HT.
BB were well in the game but a penalty at a scrum gave Vickers three more 7-19. BB were now well in the ascendancy and pinned Boro back putting pens in the corner(not everybody carries a Vickers) and from one of these prop Olly Cottle barged over, Mann converted 14-19.This was Followed by a Mann pen 17-19. The BB faithful sensed a win but up stepped Vickers to continue his flawless kicking display to seal victory for boro with another penalty 17-22 and a personal haul of 17 points. BB take the bonus point and edge a step further from the relegation zone.
