With their final league games away at the top two, it was imperative that BB took something from the game. The mill was dry at the start with no sign of the forecasted heavy rain. BB started well taking the game to D's having a try disallowed, but it mattered not as good hands rewarded returning full back Tom Shaul with a try, Ben Mann converted 7-0. BB continued to pour forward, Mann missing one and converting one pen 10-0. With their scrum also dominant it looked good for the win. Heavy rain then began to fall making ball handling a lottery by half time.
D's started the second half brightly and slotted a drop goal 10-3. BB responded when, from a scrum, centre Mitch Stevenson used his power to smash over 15-3. From the long k.o. BB committed the ultimate sin, trying to run the ball out of defence, unsurprisingly they were caught out and D's scored a try 15-8. D's later kicked a penalty 15-11, but this was a relatively easy win for BB, missing several key players, who hopefully will now stay up and progress next season.
