All new players welcome.
The Under 10’s play under the New Rules of Play. This is the next step in transitional rugby and introduces 1 v 1 contest for the ball, introduction of ball carrier plus one other player and tackler plus one other player, and the introduction of the uncontested scrum, which at this age all players are coached in the correct formation of the scrum as it is not a specialised position. Our Lead Coach, Samantha Clark, is RFU qualifed and CRB checked, as are all our Coaches and Staff.
The Under 10’s in addition to taking part in matches with other East Midlands teams, entering the Alliance Tournament and festivals are also eligible to take part in the Mini Mobbs Tournament.
If you join the club at this age group you will be fully included in all training sessions and you will be given any extra attention you need to ensure that you can take part in matches as soon as possible and as safely as possible.
Friendly matches are arranged throughout the season with local rugby clubs, as well as being entered into tournaments during the season.
At the end of the season each registered team member is presented with a trophy for taking part in the season, and then separate awards are made for most improved player of the season and player of the season. This is then followed by a party for the players.
To play for the Under 10’s age group you need to be in Year 5 at school.
Players should bring suitable footwear, a gum shield together with adequate clothing for the weather conditions expected, and a drink.
