The odd no show didn't help either, but the Thirds still managed to have four benchers and lend Minty to the opposition for the whole game - his choice, so thank you, Mint. Hope you've recovered from the shoeings.
Tries came from Tim Brown, Tim Briggs, Dan Denton, Tommy Buswell (only one), Don Johnson (two in two, blah, blah), Daz Earl and Captain David Willix with two.
Rob Tear hauled himself over the line with several Brackley players hanging off him, but was unfortunate to have his brilliant effort disallowed as the ref's vew was blocked. Tim Briggs was similarly unlucky. On the other hand, Gary Bower's two disallowed attempts were well called as Mr Fumble began to leave up to his new name. According to Gasbo, he only knocked on two, was held up once and dropped one in open play. His team mates beg to differ - shall we just leave it that he may have forgotten the odd one or two?
Mark Linnel (Eli) kicked one conversion, Tim Brown two and Gary Bowers - yes, him again - the last one.
Kelvin Smith did well, coming on at 6 in the second half, and Eli continues to steadily improve as he gots back into the swing of playing. Tim Brown distributed the ball well, and Rob Tear handled Bobby Green's bullets excellently, jumping at 2 in the lineout.
Great scrummaging again, despite Ricardo Mouro battling on with a shoulder injury and a good team spirit again displayed under the leadership of Dave Willix and Paul Hood. Thanks also to Hoody and Steve Larkins for helping playing with the opposition in the second half.
BB travel to Casuals next week for a good old derby game - fun for all.
Oh, and Larkins wanted me to mention his try saving tackle. Done.
