With both sides almost back to full strength an exciting encounter was expected and it was Scouts first on the scoresheet to raise a cheer from a large home crowd.
As an attack gathered momentum a penalty was awarded and Matt Brown took a quick tap and avoided attempted tackles to go over. The try went unconverted and immediately Bugbrooke attacked the Scouts line. A blindside run by Dan Warren saw the hosts race from their own line and in a length of the field run with the ball changing hands several times Warren was on the end of the final pass to dot down for Tom Holliday to convert. Unfortunately Warren was injured in the act of scoring and took no further part in the match.
Bugbrooke got their first score with a penalty which was cancelled out by Holliday before the visitors created a try under the posts and the half ended 15-10.
Skipper Jordan Dolman set the scene for the second half when he took a quick penalty and crashed over. Holliday was unsuccessful with the conversion but added the extras soon after when Richard Bussey took the ball at a lineout and then recovered it to run in from the 22 virtually unopposed and claim the try bonus point.
Scouts were creating havoc at this point with Emilio Giron Walsh making several surging runs but were caught on the hop by a rare Bugbrooke attack which saw them score an unconverted try.
It was all Scouts from there on and Holliday slotted his second penalty before converting his own try after Dean Lake had kicked ahead for George Barrett to set him up.
Holliday was on hand again to chip through for Luke Reeves to touch down and in the final minutes Dolman was at the end of another free flowing movement to score his second. The two conversions by Holliday gave him a personal tally of 21 points in what proved to be a successful afternoon for both him and Scouts.
