U13s vs Bletchley

8/3/15 vs Bletchley
Match 1 – Lost 43-0

Scouts fielded 2 separate sides today with the first match comprising a couple of “older heads”, but mainly a development side with some players starting or playing a match for the first time. Bletchley proved too strong all round with Scouts tackling being the main weak point of their game. However, the visitors didn’t have it all their own way, but Scouts were unable to convert the possession they did have into points.
The highlight of the game for Scouts came straight from the kick off for the second half when Peter made a searing break into Bletchley territory, but was forced out about 10 metres short of the line.

Man of the Match was given to Naheed – congratulations.

Match 2 – Lost 7-5
In an altogether tighter game Scouts started like a train and from a scrum near to the Bletchley line the ball was picked by Lawrenze to score early on. The visitors were reduced to 14 players when a dangerous tackle resulted in a yellow card. Scouts were unable to take advantage of the extra man. Once back to full strength Bletchley laid siege to Scouts line and following a series of penalties conceded Bletchely were awarded a penalty try for persistent infringement, which they duly converted to take a 7-5 lead.
The second half was attritional stuff with neither side able to dominate and no additional score forthcoming.
This was slightly disappointing result following Scouts strong start, but was a good, competitive match.

Man of the Match was awarded to Jacob Tansley.
