A Win's A Win!

Won 10-5 (T: Peter, Taylor)

Scouts made hard work of this re-arranged fixture and were left hanging on at the end in a game where they really should have been out of sight by half time. In near perfect conditions, under a blue sky, next to no wind and lovely playing surface, the game was a scrappy affair with both teams guilty of too many handling errors.

Scouts were on the offensive for approx. 80% of the match, but only managed 2 tries – one in each half with Peter scooting down the wing early in the first half and Taylor forcing his way over in the second. That should have given Scouts the confidence to push on and secure the win, but they were nowhere near their best and St Neots scored towards the end to make for an uncomfortable final few minutes.

However, considering that Scouts had about 6 players missing and also leant the opposition 2 players in each half due to them being short, this was a satisfactory win.
