WE'RE BACK!

A great turnout to start the season back at the fortress, with a 30+ strong squad its looking like a excellent year ahead!

Today was the first day of the new season as we move to under 10s. It was great to see a full turn out on the first week and hear about their summer adventures. Next week we need to switch on and make sure the squad are listening to the coaches and picking up the new skills, as we improve - so do our opponents. If we want to continue on the level we played last season, training is the investment.

This year sees the inclusion of the ruck, contested by one player from each side, its a new skill for the squad to learn. We also progress to more players on the pitch. We start with a few weeks training before our first fixture against Wellingborough.

Its always nice to start the new season and see faces return and new ones start. This year we have Lilli-Mae who has made a great start this week after being awarded Player of the Week, welcome Lilli-Mae :-).

Next week we have training again, this is valuable time before we get into the winter fixtures up to Christmas (did i really just say Christmas! Mrs Heath did say its only 17 Fridays away :-0). We will be working on the foundations of TACKLE, RUCK, MOVE THE BALL! So get your players switched on, they can de-fuse from the return to School with a great Sunday morning at Rushmere Road.
