Lost 27-15 (T: Peter, Caleb (2))
A much better defensive performance from Scouts who spent the majority of the match in their own half, coming under pressure from a larger Mens Own side.
With the strong wind in their faces for the first half, Scouts went behind from a quickly taken tap penalty. They came back strongly and a rare excursion into their opponents half resulted in Peter going over in the corner to reduce the deficit. Scouts were unlucky to concede a try right on the half-time whistle to find themselves 14-5 down at half-time.
A nicely worked move by Scouts resulted in Caleb scoring to bring them within 5 points, however Mens Own again had the bulk of the territory in the second half. Errors began to creep into Scouts play and they gave away a couple of penalties for off-side in quick succession resulting in Mens Own kicking the points to increase the lead to 20-10.
Scouts gave themselves a sniff of a chance when Caleb scored his second try of the game following a good catch and drive from the forwards. However, another converted try in the dying seconds by the visitors gave the final score a slightly misleading 27-15 in Mens Own favour.
