Baseball Hits Northampton

If you Build it they will come
- Field of Dreams - James Earl Jones

This Sunday sees Northants Centurions open the BBF Single A Central season at their home ground on St Crispins Park against the newly formed Stourbridge Tomahawks (Stourbridge Titans Second Team).

4 Years in the making finally sees the dream of Club President Paul Rance, come to fruition with a Diamond finally in the town of Northampton. Over the past 12 months Paul has worked tirelessly with other members of the Club to secure the field and a place for the Centurions to call home. As the New Year drew to a close Paul enrolled the help of club members Nick Russell, Martin Maloney & Stefan Meyern and the ground arrival sped along. Cue the carnage and the dates were given, dirt was ordered, Pauls dream a reality, Martins use of the the over americanised APB in every sentence, Nick Russells organisation and Stefans calmness!!!.

2 Weeks ago the first shovel hit the dirt, the players committed time, Paul's Travis Perkins resource helped with the equipment and from the corner of an open field the white lines of Battle had been drawn. Here as I write this article 14 days later from the ashes of the field St Crispins Baseball park has arisen and the smiles on people faces are a splendor to view. Thursday/Friday sees the final layers of dirt go down and the pitch markings get drawn and then all attention switches to Sunday and the first Pitch in Northampton.

Sunday 12pm Stourbridge Tomahawks @ Northants Centurions, St Crispins Park, Northampton.

Come along show your support, harbor your curiosity, learn a new game. Must important of all enjoy another new sport in a true sporting town. Baseball a family game at a family club.
