President's Message
Friday 28th February
Today I took the difficult decision to withdraw our club's first XV, North Berwick Rugby, from this season's National League 4.
The season has been a constant challenge to get a team on the pitch and I've got to praise the efforts of the captain team, CJ and Stu who have led the weekly effort. Through their determination, we have made it to the scheduled final league weekend. With four crippling long rearranged away journeys left, though, we have reached the end of the line.
My thanks, too, go to our friendly clubs, clubs like Musselburgh, Lasswade, Preston Lodge and Ross High who have stood by us and lent players when they could.
Our players have carried themselves with dignity throughout the season and I won't hear a bad thing said about them. Without them, we'd be in a much worse state. I hope the young team who have crossed the country to represent the red & black and that the experienced rugby players in our midst stick with us next season.
As the season draws to a close, please make the clubhouse your six nations venue of choice, and stop by the club on April 19th to celebrate our 7s festival.
We will rebuild, we will regroup, we will be back.
