U12s Get Better After Slow Start

The U12s took 20 of their squad to the Chipping Sodbury Fesitval and were glad to play three games against strong opposition.

Game 1 saw them tackle Broad Plain, one of the strongest sides in Bristol and their usual slow start saw them 4-0 down at the break. Knowing that they can't give a side like Broad Plain that type of lead they improved massively in the second half, taking it 2-1, but Plain ended deserved winners.

The second game saw a newly formed Dings side take the field and the U12s were irresistable in the opening ten minutes running in six tries and not allowing Dings out of their own half. Ollie covered well and raced in for a try after a Dings kick out and Fletcher powered over for a well earned try. Dings improved in the second half, great to see, and held North Bristol to just one more try.

Lastly they played Winscombe who had two tall rangy players who ran their game well. They snatched a late try to end the game 3-3, a fair reflection of the game.

Dev was close to earning the Player of the Day with two great passes putting in Will and Chris for scores but it went to Archie. He was everywhere, ripping the ball, tackling and carrying well.

Thank you to Chipping Sodbury for hosting the festival. It was great to see so many children across all age groups playing in the right spirit.
