2012/13

Leigh Newby (Killer / Newby Light / Leighroy)
On retiring at the end of the 2012/13 season at the age of 36, Leigh had made 81 appearances for the Vale (47% win ratio), scoring 22 goals in the process. Showing all the levels of desire and commitment required to put himself in the history books at the club. Brought to the club by manager and brother Scott Newby from the Bank of Scotland Strollers, Leigh played in a variety of positions in his 3 seasons with the Vale before hanging up the boots and still makes an appearance to help out now and again. Leigh currently holds the record of oldest player to appear for the club (vs Inverleith FC April 2015, aged 38)

Jamie Knox (Knoxie / El Capitan)
Another to hang up the boots at the end of the 2012/13 season was club legend Jamie Knox. Initially brought to the club by Scott Newby in 2009 and immediately made captain. A role model for players on and off the pitch Knoxie always gave 100%, and did it with class. Often troubled by injury he kept on coming back and played through the pain barrier on many occasion making 85 appearances, scoring 18 goals, 13 assists, 14 man of the match awards and a win ratio of 42% despite playing through the early 'difficult' seasons - not bad for a left back.

2013/14

Chris Sproule (Mute / Sprout)
The first man to reach the magic figure of 100 appearances for North Merchiston Vale, Chris Sproule had 2 periods with the club disected by a period away travelling. Often a driving force in midfield, Sproule had a deadly turn of pace and was often the vital link between defence and attack. Scoring 18 goals and providing 21 assists helped him obtain a 48% win rate with the club, picking up 8 man of the match awards on the way.
Sproule was another to retire early at the age of 30 with chronic ankle problems but the Vale faithful are still hoping for a return one day.

Scott Newby (Gaffer)
The second Newby to be inducted to the Hall of fame and what is there to say about the man, Mr NMV himself. The passion, committment and enthusiasm for driving the club forward over the early years is second to none. The author of the longest emails in the free worls (known to bring players to tears), the deliverer of some of the feicest half time team talks, the deployer of many tactics board alterations are all thought out over sleepless nights for one reason.... his love for the club. 172 games and counting at the end of the 2014/15 season and now 1 goal to his name, although I heard it was a mis-hit!

2014/15

Allan Matheson (Stalin)

Chris Donaldson (Pav)
A club stalward on and off the Park, big Pav was one of the founding members of Burgh Vale along side Dani Wood and Scott Downie and shared the responsibility of managing and being no.1. Still with the club 7 years later Pav has taken on the role of Club Secretary as his playing days have been limited due to injury, however he still coaches the keepers and may dust off the gloves for a cameo every now and again, even appearing up front in the Scottish cup (14/15) and played a stormer. A true club legend.
