Vale lost 3 key players from the squad that ended last season as they looked to start life again in the Lothian West Division. Goalkeeper Manuel Delso returned to his native Spain after a 4 and a half year spell in Scotland and last seasons top scorer Chris Reid was joined by Scott Millar in joining Tollcross Thistle.

There have been a few returnees to the squad - Colin McDougall returns after a year out, despite his mature age Col's fitness is as good as ever. Chris Keir, the clubs record goalscorer, and fellow forwards Neil Rankin and Craig O'Rourke also signed on again for the Vale after missing last season for various reasons.

The club have als secured the signatures of 6 new faces - Darren Affleck, Ryan Stewart, Liam Thomas, Luke Leiper, Alan Bannon and Kevin Walker all signed on for the start of the season and the management are delighted with the performances of all players so far.
