Vale went down early on after a straight through ball caught the defence napping and the quick Craigie forward applied a great finish. Despite the early setback Vale grew in to the game but were guilty of a few missed chances. The hosts had a chance to double their lead but a penalty was missed mid way through the half.
Craigie did go 2 ahead early in the second half when a cross evaded everyone and the wee striker scored his second of the game stooping to head in at the back post. Vale showed resilience to come back immediately, Liam Thomas played a great ball through to Walker who was chopped down in the box, captain Seywright took the ball and sent the keeper the wrong way.
Vale were level minutes later, this time Bannon spotted the run of Thomas and released the young midfielder who lifted the ball over the keeper with a classy finish. The comeback was halted soon after when the Craigroyston player scored the goal of the game, turning and firing in to the top corner from 30 yards.
Merchie kept going and had 3 more penalty claims waved away and were guilty of lacklustre finishing. That couldnt be said when the equaliser came, a long throw from Thomas was left to bounce in the box and Walker smashed into the roof of the net with an overhead kick, what a way to mark his debut for the Vale.
Vale looked the most likely for a winner but in the end the points were shared.
