The Midd has received a flurry of accolades over recent weeks including Brian "Oz " Cohen receiving the Premier League Groundsman of the year award - see earlier article.

The recent publication of this year's MCCL Umpires' marks for the Pitches and Outfields of the Premier League clubs brought more good news for the club, and for Brian "Oz" Cohen in particular. Taking the Outfield first, the Midd retained its top spot for the umpteenth year in a row (foxes or no foxes!), finishing well clear of Harrow St Mary's and Finchley, who tied for 2nd position.

The key stats for the quality of the Pitches prepared for Premier League matches showed a strong improvement by the Midd, rising from the lower echelons last season to an impressive 4th place this year, behind only Finchley, Teddington and Hampstead, and ahead of Prem luminaries such as Richmond and Ealing.
