Crusaders winning run continues

Once more the Crusaders opposition (Blaydon Bricks) cried off, good old David rises to the occasion to find us a friendly fixture against Novos at home, with one or two late cry off’s the Crusaders still managed a squad of 26 (another 6-7 we will have to look to field Artisan side).

The starting 15 did not take long to get into the game with Sam Dolling showing his talent to open the scoring Will Forster adding the conversion 0:7 next on the score sheet was new dad Jamie Humble 0:12 the Crusaders had to ring the changes early on with injury to Joe Cozens (speedy recovery Joe). Ricki Hasnip back from injury was showing his class in the backs and steadying the ship ran in a unconverted try 0:17.

Dan Emmonds back at the club this season after a short break added his name to the score sheet joining the line from fullback and crashing over the line 0:22, Joe Whelan who was having great game on the wing in attack and defence put his name on the score sheet 0:27 which is how the first half finished.

With Novos having a bad day with injury’s they were down to 14 men, North Shields give them there flying winger Lewis Boyle, Ricki Hasnip added a second try 0:32 (has Will Forster gone home) with Novos getting another injury (and refusing a player) decided to call it a day and the game was halted after 55 mins.

A big thank you to Lynne pyhsio for again treating both sides (was kept busy with injury’s) Tom Gallon stepping in to coach (regular coach’s not available) MOM R Sampson, D*** of the match Sam Dolling after a brilliant break passing to the one Novos player left to beat.

Next week Crusaders v Hordan 3rds at home.
