To celebrate World Book Day RGC players and staff have been at Pen-Y-Bryn Primary School, Colwyn Bay taking part in reading sessions and answering questions from the pupils on their favourite books.

The players and coaches spent time with the children, as they read books the pupils brought in to school today ranging from Horrid Henry to The BFG.

Marc Roberts Spoke on today’s visit “It is important that the Academy and Senior players get involved with the local community and through the projects with Pen-Y-Bryn we have been able to interact on an educational level as well as sporting one. The players have also got a lot out of today’s visit to help emphasise the importance of reading on World Book Day”

One of the senior players Mike Jones also had an enjoyable afternoon “It was great to help out today, it was something different for all of us and we hope the kids had some fun as well”

Today has been a culmination of a number of initiatives with the school, as Allan James has been coaching Tag Rugby Sessions at the school for the past 6 weeks, with the school children attending a rugby festival at Eirias before last week’s game.
