Chairman’s Update 23092021
Following the extensive drainage work on the main playing pitch, which was undertaken over a five day period at the beginning of July, it was hoped that it would be available for playing use at the start of the new season, earlier this month.
Unfortunately, due to the contractors’ extremely heavy workload pressures, it has only just been possible to book in, this week, the essential topping-up of the drain lines on the pitch. The contractors have advised the need for a further settling period now that this work has been completed, before the pitch can be marked and tidied, ready for a game. On that basis, it should be available for the home match against Lymm on 16th October. The game this coming Saturday against Billingham, however, will have to take place on the field at the rear of the clubhouse.
It is obviously annoying, for a number of reasons, to have the main pitch out of action, but the long term benefits of having this work done do greatly outweigh the short term inconvenience.
I apologize for that inconvenience and want to assure you that I am doing all that I can to expedite matters.
