Northwich Rugby Club, in conjunction with CleaningForce, held their 1st Annual Charity Day for RFU Injured Players Foundation on Saturday 1st April 2017 at their NorthwichSportsBar home at Moss Farm.
Northwich rugby players John Blower & Amy Griffith have been assisted by RFUIPF who give support to rugby players who have suffered a catastrophic spinal cord or traumatic brain injury which has resulted in permanent disability whilst playing rugby in England at any level and at any age. Their support is available to help players through recovery, rehabilitation, and for the rest of their life.
The day commenced at 12.30pm with a lunch & players reunion in celebration of the Undefeated 2006/07 season of Northwich RUFC, prior to this seasons 1st XV taking to the field to showcase their talents V Blackburn.
50 Luncheon guests were entertained by Englands first professional referee Steve Lander. Following the days game presentations were made to the 12 returning 06/07 squad players in attendance.
A princely sum of £500 was raised for the Injured Players Foundation on the day with further funds expected.
