And it all begins in SuperStars. Read what happened this season.

Here we are at the end of the season and it has been great with a lot of positives both on and off the field to help us grow and move in the right direction. Here a few highlights: -

We have welcomed over 30 new players across the age groups. It is good that our youth section is continuing to grow. More players mean more opportunities to have fun, make friends and play rugby so please keep spreading the word.

We managed to have a Christmas party organised by the junior section with all children receiving a free gift. Also, with the enthusiasm of the kids we held a couple of litter picking days around Moss Farm.

Easter special for the reception & year 1 group with eggstra training and Staggy in attendance.

‘SuperStars Saturday’ where our youngsters met 1st team players and did a guard of honour for the first team. The free BBQ was eagerly enjoyed by parents and children as were the 3 bouncy castles and ice-cream.

Our first full season for nearly 2 years has been a great success with lots of teams taking part in festivals. We have hosted a number of visiting teams through the season, and it’s been great to be able to do this again and see all the rugby happening on a Sunday morning. In turn we have attended fixtures away, at all times all our players wore the Northwich kit with pride and displayed an excellent TREDS attitude.

All age groups have had a great turn out in numbers, with positive feedback received from lots of our visitors – they can’t wait to attend again next season.

None of this is possible without the excellent team of coaches and managers who volunteer their time every Sunday and beyond to give all our Mini Players the best opportunities they can – thank you.

Our sponsors have been amazing in supporting Northwich RUFC. And our Youth Development Registered Charity, is involved in community activities all year round to maximise mutual benefits for our sponsors and organisation.

Not to forget finishing off the season with our awards where we celebrate players and volunteers’ achievements.

Friday 20th May (late afternoon/evening) – Awards ceremony for U7s and U8s.
Saturday 21st May (late afternoon/evening) – Awards ceremony for U9s, U10s, U11s & 12s.
Sunday 22nd May (Morning) – Awards ceremony and games for the Minis (Pre-school, reception and Y1)

We are hoping to promote the club at some local events during the off season so if your school is holding a summer fete and you would like to help promote the club please get in touch.

Training will return for the Minis for a 6-week block on Sunday 12th June, ending before the summer holidays on Sunday 17th July. Start time 9:30.

This season has been a big success and it is down to the Parents, Players and Volunteers so please enjoy your break. We will see you during the Summer for a BBQ and return next season to carry on your rugby journey in the fun and friendly environment at Moss Farm the home of Northwich Rugby.

Keep an eye on club communications for information about club events over the summer and don’t forget to visit the website www.northwichrufc.co.uk for up-to-date news

Moving into next season we are looking at another good season of fixtures and festivals both home and away. The 22/23 season will kick off on Sunday 4th September.

With an eye on continuing to grow next season, we will need a number of parents to step into assistant coaching roles in September.

Coaching youth rugby is a fun and rewarding way to help your club, all we need to start with is some of your time, a willingness to learn and enthusiasm to help our children develop and enjoy their rugby. No rugby knowledge is required.
