John Langston was a student at Mid Cheshire College in 1965 when he and a number of other guys from Northwich, Runcorn and Widnes approached the PE Head John Chappell to form a rugby team.

John was the driving force in taking the club forward and in the early years captained the team twice. He had a great influence upon many others and it is fair to say that he was an existential factor in the development of the club, and made an immense contribution to Northwich Rugby Club over the years.

Our thoughts are with John's family and friends at this difficult time.

He leaves behind his second wife Belinda and is also survived by his first wife Pat and their two children Karen and Christopher.

The funeral is Thursday 2nd of March, 11.30am, St James Church, Audlem, CW3 0AA.

The club would suggest coordination on car sharing. We hope for a good turn out for one of the founder members of our great club. Black shirt and club ties are acceptable.
