Not for the 2s & 3s who both play this Saturday.

All Northwich players have had a challenging season and some of the 2nd & 3rd team players achievements are worth highlighting.

Many have made their 1st team debuts, without doubt a major accomplishment jumping from the merit leagues to play at RFU level 5. Willingly volunteering for the exceptionally long coach journey’s and acceptance at being called up to 1st team duties without notice on a Saturday morning, and sometimes to bench without making it onto the field.

Players have rotated weekly between 2s & 3s, regularly playing out of position so as to be able to field a team, and committing to turn-up in the knowledge the team will be short of numbers but the game can take place.

Northwich 2nd travel to third placed Whitchurch 2nd. Due to a league regulation misunderstanding Northwich failed to attend the earlier meeting between the teams so must end their season with an away fixture. Having lost heavily away at Sandbach last week, Northwich will be hoping for a better result, a win could elevate them two places higher ending a difficult season in the top-half.

Northwich 3rd also journey visiting Firwood Waterloo for their final fixture in Division 4 West. A top 5 finish is possible with victory over bottom placed Waterloo. Our opposition again granted a home walkover as the early season fixture occurred on the same day in September as the 2nd team cock-up.

The players selected will make sure they are focused on ensuring they end the season with a bang. Please travel to support if you are able, the players deserve it.
