Another fantastic turnout at Moss Farm for the Walking Rugby faithful of Northwich RUFC.

21 participants enjoyed a 3 game round robin where, for a change, the games were NOT tied 6 tries all!
This was mainly due to the fact that Seb was not allowed to run this week - and was rightly pinged by the ref every time he tried !
However, he did try (as always), And he did score 2 tries when he was not trying to run - Nice try Seb - but you can try harder!!!

Although the game is about scoring tries, our focus is about having fun in a friendly atmosphere where banter is the key.
The is evident in the number of participants of all ages, gender and abilities.
It’s fun, it’s free, and it helps burn off the calories so one doesn’t feel guilty having that after game drink in the bar - thanks again to Dan for running the bar, and to Tate for the pre-match preparations.

Thanks also to both Danny & Baz for offering to be Jenna’s next Guinea pigs on the Physio bench….

See you all next week, same time, same place - and don’t forget to bring a friend.

SO WHATS IT ALL ABOUT

Walking Rugby started at the Club in September 2020 and has proved a popular addition to our offering. A simplified version of Rugby suitable for all ages, abilities & genders and being a competitive passing game, suitable for all those interested in Rugby without any experience! Those past retirement age can still indulge in their passion without the full-on contact or those wishing to keep up their activity levels can try a new sport. Walking Rugby is a great leveller and players do not need to be fit – we can work on that together. The sessions are led by our coordinator Dominic Eyes and there is currently a 60/40 split between men and women players with an emphasis on socialising and having fun. Walking Rugby takes place at 6.30pm every Monday night at the Club. Newcomers are always welcome.
