Friday 28th June, Northwich RUFC hosted the annual schools festival.

Northwich RUFC have been working in conjunction with the Vale Royal School Sport Partnership to facilitate and deliver a rugby festival which is based solely on fun, and experience of sport without fear of mistakes or pressure.

With Over 18 local schools in attendance, it always a busy day, but a great day to see so many children trying their hand at a sport they may never have tried if it not for the club links with Schools sports partnership.

As always, many volunteers are needed to staff the day, and it was pleasing to see so many volunteers from the Northwich U16’s and Colts players giving back to the club. Many having just finished exams, volunteered to help “Ref” and coach the children on the day. Club coach Scott Naylor, who has coached some of these lads since they were U6’s said,

“ to have these lads, giving back to a sport which has empowered them, shows what a fantastic family club we are, and what teamwork and respect are about, a huge thanks to all volunteers.”

Today was another example of how working closely in the community, children of all abilities, can try their hand at different sports, in a fun, non-pressured environment. A place to come and smile, giggle and feel like your having a day out with your friends.

As a club we welcome these initiatives, and thank Vale royal school sports partnership for their continued involvement.
