After what has felt to be an eternity without a game due to the holiday period and dreadful weather, nine members represented Northwich U9s against a strong visiting Congleton RUFC. After several weeks of training indoors mastering ball handling, the offload and quick line speed, it quickly became apparent that all the hard work was paying off.
Both the home team and the visitors offered a disciplined and structured approach to their games, with strong defensive work leading to possession being carried through in many cases through all seven tackles, representing the quality of the game. With the ball handling being so tight, any small error would be punished with lead swinging one way and then the other throughout the morning.
With the team continuing to gel and come together, progress is clearly being made. Special mention must be made of Connor and Jake for their try saving tackling. Cathal, and Tom for their strong straight running. Ash R, Cathal and Ash K for their nimble feet and Sam and Finlay for their excellent support play on the offload.
A special thanks must be made to the Congleton players and coaches for embracing the spirit of the game and making it such a fun morning.
