Following the relaxation today of the lockdown I am pleased to be able to report that football will be returning to The Highfield

this season however only the Sunday league will be playing their season to a completion.

Both the Anglian Combination and the Lowestoft & District league have declared their season's null and void mainly due to the amount of games remaining to be played. So unfortunately the Saturday teams will not complete their league campaigns. They will however still be taking part in their respective Norfolk FA county cups with the first team hosting Celt Rangers on 10th April. The Reserves have been awarded a bye in the Primary cup as scheduled opponents Alysham A have withdrawn from the competition.

The first team will be taking part in a special end of season competition sponsored by The Offside Trust in conjunction with Norfolk FA where they have been drawn in a group consisting of AC Mill Lane, Belton, GY Town Reserves and Hembsy. The group winners will progress to the 1/4 final which will be made up of the best 3 of 5 group runners up.

The Reserves will get their football fix with a series of friendly matches.

As mentioned the Sunday league will be completing in full and this leaves 7 league games remaining (Longham have withdrawn) alongside the Norfolk junior up.

We have also just learned that the vets league have now opted to null and void their season but at the time of writing no plans are in place for any fixtures although some friendly matches may be arranged.
