We started the game putting immediate pressure on Southwold. With great intensity and pod work we worked to turn the ball over multiple times. Unfortunately, Southwold regained possession and after a persistent effort to hold them off they slipped down the wing to score in the corner.
With a kick to them, we were up in their faces. Trying to use the wings to score as they had before, we repeatedly tackled them into touch. This went on for a while but after drawing us in they shipped it wide and they slipped another down the wing.
After holding Southwold off for what seemed like forever, the ball was turnt over and Claire Hindley ran it in between the posts from our 22 for our first try of the game. Beatrice Tompkins then went on to convert. Southwold also squeezed another try in before half time.
Following half time we put in a massive shift. Southwold were unable to score for a good 15 minutes because everyone was working their absolute socks off. There was then a try to them but that didn't stop us. Receiving the kick, our support work was incredible and we powered down the pitch, pod after pod. Eventually, Ellie Leahy did a pick and go and got the ball over the line.
Southwold then went on to make a couple of breaks with the final score being 12-39. A great game by all, especially those massively out of position.
