"He was a most delightful and attractive boy and his charming personality won for him many friends. That such lads as Ronald - typical of England's finest young manhood - should have to sacrifice their lives is part of the heavy price that we are called upon to pay for victory. His unfailing cheerfulness and ready wit, coupled with his unassuming demeanour, leave behind a fragrant memory, and a sense of gratitude that he ever came across our pathway."
