Harry Barker signs new two-year contract with the Planters

Norwich United are very pleased to announce popular defender Harry Barker has committed his future to the club for a further two seasons.

Harry was signed by manager Steve Eastaugh during his previous spell with the club in March 2018 and has been a key part of the Planters defence ever since. Harry's experience stems from being part of the Norwich City academy from U9 level all the way through until the U21's.

Harry expressed his delight at the move as well as looking back at an incredible season last time out:

"I am delighted to commit to Norwich United for another two seasons. Last year, we had a phenominal run with Ced and Tom, and I want to help the team to reach those levels again. It is an exciting time at the club as we have a new management team with bags of experience. It was a no brainer when I was asked if I wanted to re-sign, as I have worked with Steve at a few places and I like how he manages.

Also, the togetherness in our dressing room is something that I couldn't turn down, and this is a huge factor as to why we were so successful last year.

I would like to thank Ced and Tom for last season. Unfortunately, we couldn't finish the job, however we will hopefully be celebrating at the end of this year"

Harry's defensive colleague and new Planters assistant manager Andy Eastaugh is also thrilled to have secured Harry's services for another two seasons:

"Harry deserves his new contract he’s a massive part of our dressing room and we didn’t hesitate to get him tied down. He had a exceptional season and no doubt had plenty of interest from elsewhere so we’re delighted he’s committed his future to the club."
