Planters fight back to secure a deserved three points.

The Young Planters headed to Crown Meadow for their third game in the Thurlow Nunn Youth League against bottom of the table Waveney FC.

After a scrappy opening 25 minutes, Waveney took advantage of a defensive mix-up to open the scoring in the 27th minute.

It wasn't long before Charlie Barber cut in from the right-wing and saw his goal-bound shot deflect off a defender from an acute angle and make the game all square in the 35th minute.

Straight from the resulting kick-off, Caleb Geib capitalised on a Waveney error, setting Charlie Gaskin free to drive into the box and beat the advancing keeper with a neat finish.

By now the Planters were on top and Geib saw his 43rd minute goal ruled out for offside.

The second-half followed much the same pattern with Jake Hart stinging the keeper's hands on 60 minutes.

The Planters didn't have long to wait for the third when on the 63rd minute, "Super" Lennie Blythe capped a Man of the Match display, turning sharply and curling the ball over the keeper from 20 yards out.

After the game manager Alex Fumagalli was pretty happy with another win for his team;

"The first-half was very scrappy. We conceded a very sloppy goal before finding our way. The second-half was much better, we controlled the game and found that all-important third goal. Nine points from the first three games, not bad at all."
